I head up our marketing division, team Generate, where we generate sales for global clients primarily through paid search AdWords / Sociable Selling on social channels and other digital marketing activities. We are google partner, with multiple employees fully certified in AdWords (including myself) as well analytics, and mobile web development.
I personally have been in sales and marketing 20years next year, and was involved in print media advertising for almost 10years and saw the transition through to digital. I also run a salon business in Ayrshire my with wife and we generate over 80% of our business through social channels. I was early adopter of social & google ads when selling print ads to businesses, and really saw the value over traditional methods, so embraced fully to learn as much as possible to the benefit of my clients.

As Managing Director of Roodee Web Design, Simon hangs off the back tractors with clients at harvest time, enjoys a coffee (black, no sugar) over talking through digital briefs and occasionally wears a suit.

He leads teams working across various platforms, creating websites, visuals, videos and stacks of ideas that work on or offline, on radio, on tv, in-store or in print.

Before working in digital marketing, he had a long and successful career in broadcasting and cites Steve Allen’s early breakfast show on LBC as the best on UK radio right now. “Engaging an audience without guests, callers or records for 2 1/2 hours every day is a talent to be admired. Hearing someone enjoying their work and doing it so well is inspirational.”

Away from work he is passionate about politics and allotment gardening. His goal is to grow every vegetable on the Christmas dinner plates from seed.
